According to the brochure: “In 1993, the AHC and the UW Art Museum moved into the award-winning Centennial Complex designed by acclaimed architect Antoine Predock.”

I find the architecture of the building interesting but I am not fond of how one moves through it. The spaces are awkward and seem jammed at places yet too open at others.

A great university art museum with many rotating exhibits. And it's free with very easy parking. Be sure to visit the galleries of the attached American Heritage center which have many unique historical Western paintings.

I m here for matthew shepard' On October 7, 1998, Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old student at the University of Wyoming, was brutally attacked and tied to a fence in a field outside of Laramie, Wyoming and left to die. On October 12, Matt succumbed to his wounds in a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.

it’s free, which is great! and the ladies at the front desk were very nice. but it is very small. half of their current selection just didn’t speak to me (although there were a handful that were lovely), so we only spent 15-20 mins walking around. the stan lee exhibit on the other side had some videos/seating, so we stayed in there a bit longer! but i think that exhibit ends Nov 1. (you can park in certain spots in the lot for free, just go in and get a day pass to put in your dash if you’ll be there more than 2 hours).

This is my second visit to this sensational university art museum. There are many treasures in the collection—like this selection (the red woodblock print by Faith McManus is exquisite). My favorite part is the exceptional work by student artists.

A nice art museum. The collection is rich comparing it's in Laramie. Anytime you go there, you will see some exhibition on the wall from some great artists.

The museum is nicely organized, accessible to everyone. Your time there will be memorable.

I’ve read some mixed reviews about this museum: “It’s small and not worth going to,” or “The artwork is beautiful, a must-see!” In my opinion, art is a matter of opinion. For me, it may be small, but it’s something! I come from a region where art is mostly disregarded, cast aside, so museums like this and the Nicolaysen in Casper are a refreshing change from home. The art featured have purposes: visit this beautiful museum to see for yourself!

Diverse collection. Some pieces I see as waste of time and utterly devoid of any talent whatsoever. I have no idea why they would be in a "select exhibit" in a museum. (One six foot yellow square, acrylic on paper comes to mind, as does a dozen or so small toilets with different examples of feces smeared across the top of the seat.)

That being said, most items are absolutely intriguing and a delight to view.

Spend an hour here if you're in Laramie.
