You will die before you get an appointment. Over two weeks my father has been waiting on the heart and neurology department. The VA has cleared everything before hearing from neurology that’s sad. My father needs heart surgery and over two weeks nothing

Had a tumor and was hospitalized here. Night nurses were great. The commucation from the Dr's was unacceptable. They were extremely condescending and would not explain or repeat themselves as they apparently believe they are above that. Need to work on bedside manners with doctors and remind them people fighting for their lives aren't always completely coherent and to have some patience and understanding. Also was sent home when I said I didn't feel right and was in a lot of pain after surgery and had to return in 2 days with 104 fever and infection I gained from the hospital.

The doctors do not listen to their patients. Documentation of the surgery was negligent. I had a doctor from another hospital look up the medical records from KU because he wanted to know what kind of tumor I had because I was never actually told what kind. He reported that no where in the documentation from KU does it state what kind of tumor. I would say that's a bit negligent of the various doctors as well.

Emergency care = excellent. However, the care received from nurse Erin on the 4th floor was horrendous - she laughed at the PT’s family when they were in distress and trying to find out information about the PT (which they had full disclosure to receive) Plus, the patient had to share a room with another patient with a small curtain for “privacy”…

All the other nurses were OK, but these 2 incidents alone are the reason for my rating.

I now understand why this hospital has a 3.6 rating! My mother is a patient there once again dealing with stage 4 cancer. She came there because she had swelling in her arms when she was at Ignite and it turned out to be blood clots! I called my mother to see how she was doing and she told me that she’s completely swollen! So I called back to speak to the nurse! The nurse Sydney or something like that calls back and from the beginning I detect attitude! So I address my concerns to her since she’s the one that’s supposed to be taking care of my mother!!! She tells me she’s not swollen and it’s just her arms and I told her don’t condescend or patronize me when I literally just got off the phone with my mother! Her responses are very dismissive and she had the audacity to tell me I don’t need to be rude! She’s lucky I didn’t curse her out! Then she yells something and hangs up the phone on me! You have got to be kidding me!! The level of unprofessionalism is unfathomable! So if you have an attitude like that with a patients daughter how are you treating the patient!! So I called back and spoke to Ms. Randolph regarding how I was treated! If you don’t like your job or you’re overworked and underpaid , that’s not my problem! Nonetheless Il I’ll be dammed IF ANYONE IS GOING TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE WITH ME WHEN I QUESTION THE WELL BEING OF MY MOTHER WHO’S SUFFERING FROM STAGE 4 CANCER AND IM IN NEW JERSEY!!! I WILL BE ON THE FIRST THING SMOKING IF ANYONE MISTREATS MY MOTHER!!!!!

I absolutely love the care I have received from the health system. All the doctors and nurses have always been consistent and kind with my care.

Very sad place. Its the lack of your issues that never gets addressed like you're lying about how you feel. I feel if proper test was ran and can be read by the doctor the problem could have been seen. But just needles and pills mask the real problem. No work was done to get to the root but I bet it will be a couple of thousands just so I have to go somewhere else to get my pain addressed properly. Smiled in my face the whole time.

Tried to force me to pay a bill by lying that I have an appointment coming up. A bill isn't late when you failed to send it for 5 months. They said my insurance was processing it but it's a COPAY. There's nothing to process, a copay to see a specailist in network is already decided when you sign up for insurance. I have received bills and paid bills that weren't copay. Lying and sending me check in emails and phone calls is just crazy. It's hardly been a month since I been billed! I don't really need my ku December apt when I already have a nuerologist who bills me my $75 copay when I check in. Even if I didn't LMH isn't going to send me emails saying I need to check in for my appointment when I don't have one.

It's an OK hospital for certain things but some of the different units have employees who work for them that aren't always on point. For instance, some of the CNA, even nurses don't respond promptly to call lights nor does doctors do their very best to care for patients especially if your near death like hospice patients. They basically do little to help patients live longer like other hospitals say Advent Health in Shawnee does and patients seem to be uncomfortable which they should be priority. I also don't think they do a very good job of keeping the patients rooms clean and sanitary plus the food sucks! They need different menus and a better selection in the cafe but overall certain departments within the hospital, say like the spine clinic, xray, cancer unit or maternity have good quality care. The students who go there are amateur of course, but hopefully they become the future nurses/doctors who are good in providing care patients need...
